Tam tikslui jis, atsižvelgdamas į produkcijos tipą (galvijininkystė, avininkystė, kiaulininkystė, pienininkystė, paukštininkystė ir pan.), analizuoja būdingus žemdirbių poreikius ir juos įtikina gyvūnų auginimo tobulesnių metodų įdiegimo būtinumu, kad būtų didesnis įmonės našumas ir rentabilumas. Jis stengiasi įsigilinti į žemės ūkio įmonės reikalus, siūlo sprendimus ir metodus, leidžiančius pagerinti įmonės našumą naudojant tinkamus pašarus, gerinant genetinį fondą, užtikrinant gyvūnų sveikatą, sprendžiant techninius ir ekonominius reikalus ir parduodant produkciją.
